Complimenting the Utah National Scenic Byway, the Flaming Gorge-Green River Basin Byway continues around the dramatic landscapes surrounding Lake Flaming Gorge. The landscape quickly evolves to high desert and open shrub vegetation as it leaves the mountains. This vast open country is home to large herds of Mule deer, pronghorn antelope and bands of wild horses. The historic gateway towns of Green River and Rock Springs anchor the northern portion of the byway, providing a diverse array of visitor services.

Enter the byway off I-80 at either Green River or Rock Springs Wyoming. The byway forms a loop off of I-80 around Lake Flaming Gorge.
